Niall Crowley the CEO of the Equality Authority officially launched the service; other speakers were Deputy Mayor Eamonn Maloney, Sarah Campbell Disability Advocate and John Long regional manager of Tallaght Citizens Information Board. Over 100 people attended the Launch.
What is the Tallaght Disability Advocacy Service?
The Tallaght Disability Advocacy Service is a resource for people with disabilities, living in the Tallaght area. It supports people in accessing rights and entitlements, and to expressing their opinions and views. The Tallaght Disability Advocacy Service is supported by Tallaght Citizens Information Centre, and funded through the Citizens Information Board. The service is independent and confidential, and will work on a one to one basis for people with disabilities.
What can the service do for you?
If you are a person with a disability, and feel that you need support expressing your views, or accessing rights and entitlements, then the service may be able to help you. The service will help you to get information, speak up for what you need and access your rights. The service will always act with your consent, and will never discuss your details with anyone else without your agreement. The advocate acts in partnership with the person with a disability.
